China's largest oil and gas field has produced over 700 billion cubic meters of natural gas cumulatively

On the 11th, China's Changqing Oilfield announced that its largest oil and gas field, Changqing Oilfield, has produced over 700 billion cubic meters of natural gas. If all of it is converted into crude oil equivalent, it is equivalent to the production of a 50 million ton super large oilfield for 11 years.

The Ordos Basin, explored and developed by Changqing Oilfield, is a typical low-permeability, low-pressure, and low abundance oil and gas reservoir with a density comparable to that of a "whetstone".

In recent years, Changqing Oilfield has continuously increased its efforts in natural gas exploration and development, focusing on the geological evolution, oil and gas generation, and storage mechanism research of the Ordos Basin, forming an original geological theory for rapid acquisition of natural gas resources, breaking through key core technologies for exploration and development of low-permeability, ultra-low permeability, and tight gas fields, promoting the discovery of natural gas resources, and accelerating the conversion of recoverable reserves.

We have relied on the accumulation of resource advantages and breakthroughs in key core technologies to build 14 gas fields including Jingbian, Yulin, and Sulige in low-permeability, low-pressure, and low abundance oil and gas fields, maintaining stable and high production of over 50 billion cubic meters for three consecutive years

At present, Changqing Oilfield has built the largest natural gas production base in China, producing about 1/4 of China's total natural gas production every year, and undertaking the industrial and residential gas consumption of more than 50 large and medium-sized cities.

It is reported that natural gas is not only a clean and low-carbon energy source, but also a high-quality raw material. Changqing Oilfield is deeply promoting the natural gas extension project and has built the largest natural gas ethane recovery project in Asia. It processes 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually and can produce 1.05 million tons of ethane, 450000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas, and stable light hydrocarbons.

At present, more than 20000 gas wells in Changqing Gas District are collecting natural gas from a depth of 3 kilometers underground in the Ordos Basin, with an average daily production of over 140 million cubic meters. It is an important energy artery in China.
